HOME PORTFOLIO ABOUT STRATEGY NEWS CLIENTS CASE STUDIES TESTIMONIALS GIVING BACK CONTACT

It seems that you can't have a meeting without being interrupted by a buzz, bling, notification of some sort and that people feel compelled to answer. The entire world seems to have ADD. And even in places that you go for a little quiet, there seems to be an onslaught of technology to pull us back in. Maybe because it's summer, or the fact that I spent four lovely days without a computer, that I want to reconnect with people in a way that isn't so disposable. And while I get the importance of today's social media to help drive a business forward, I also appreciate the need to make a connection with someone as a real person. After all, you can't build a brand without first building a relationship.

send a note

Instead of sending out an email thanking a client, how about sending a card? Think of how many emails you get a day. How easy it is to get lost in the cyber world. But what about sending out something beautiful and thoughtful.

The impact of sending a note.

meet in person

I use Skype. And go to meetings. I take webinars and online classes. But every once in a while, it's nice to meet in person. To go to a client's office. See their space. Or meet for coffee. It's a way to connect better with people. It's not all business when you meet in person.

go to an event

Every industry has one. Whether it's an annual conference, a workshop, or a monthly meeting. Get out. Meet like minded people. See what other's are doing. Don't look at them as competition, but as a resource.

summer hours

We only have a few months of great weather. Why stay in your office if you don't have to. Let clients know that you have summer hours. Does it mean you're working less? Probably not. But wouldn't it be nice to start your weekend a little early?

take your dog to work

OK, this might be pushing it. But if you have a furry family member, why not bring him into the office every once in a while? It might just make everyone a little happier.
